How to Shop @ Target

How to Shop @ Target

Target is one of my favorite stores! They have such cute stuff and they are usually really great about accepting coupons with no problems.

Couponing is fun and easy at Target. But here are some things you need to know to get the MOST savings at Target.

Target.com Coupons - Target offers printable coupons right on their website. These are BOTH Target Store coupons and Manufacturer coupons.
    • How do you know which is which? That's the tricky part. You don't usually know until AFTER you print it, unless someone has posted about it online. Here are some ways to tell the difference:
      • Is it a Target brand? Up and Up, Archer Farms, Market Pantry, plus all clothing coupons {Merona, Mossimo, Circo, etc} will be Target coupons.
      • Does it have a Target.com coupon code listed on it? If it is redeemable in store AND online with a certain coupon code, then it will be a Target coupon.
Stacking Coupons - One of the BEST things about Target is being able to use BOTH a Target coupon and a Manufacturer coupon together at the same time! This can save so much, especially when you buy something that's on sale or special promo!

    • You can use ONE Target coupon and ONE Manufacturer coupon per item.
Target Mobile Coupons - Text COUPONS to 827438 (TARGET) to get Target coupons sent to your mobile phone (text messaging rates do apply).

    • The cashier will scan them right from your phone. These can only be redeemed once but they CAN be stacked with a manufacturer coupon.
Gift Card Promos - Target frequently offers Target Gift Cards for purchasing certain items, like Venus Razors or Pampers Diapers.
    • Just purchase the qualifying items in one transaction and the cashier will be prompted to give you a gift card.
    • Buy as many items as you would like {you can buy them all in the same transaction}.
    • Use this gift card on your NEXT purchase.
    • These Gift Cards CAN be used to purchase more of the same item {aka "rolled"}
BOGO Offers - For Buy 1 Get 1 Free Coupons or Promotions:
    • You can NOT use a manufacturer coupon on the FREE item.
    • You can ONLY use 1 Target coupon with a BOGO Manufacturer coupon.
Price Matching - Target will match the price of a competitor's current printed ad for an identical item.
    • Be careful-- they do not honor price "with card" such as Kroger or CVS, or "after rewards" like Walgreens. So that leaves Walmart or any grocery store that doesn't require a loyalty card.
Target REDcard - Save an additional 5% on EVERYTHING, every day at Target when you use the REDcard.
    • It's a regular DEBIT card tied directly to your current checking account. And it's FREE! It's like having an extra coupon for anything in the store!
    • You can apply online or at checkout. It's super easy and quick. It probably took me 90 seconds to do and I was able to use it right away!
    • Also available as a Credit Card, if you prefer, but then you pay interest.
Reusable Bag Credit - Receive 5 cents off your total for EVERY reusable bag you bring to bag your groceries! Free money (and every penny counts}!
    • Make sure your cashier remembers to scan the bag code by the register to give you your credit. Sometimes they forget, or don't know about it.
Pay Close Attention - Take note of the price listed on the shelf vs on the register/receipt. I've found price discrepancies on several items. Make sure you don't overpay!

Make a mistake? Correct it at Customer Service. Check your RECEIPT before you leave! {I've had to run back to the store too many times to fix something--save yourself SO much time by checking BEFORE you leave the store}
    • Did you forget a coupon?
    • Did your coupon not scan correctly?
    • Did your coupon not show up on your receipt?
    • Did the cashier forget your 5 cent bag credit?
    • Did the price ring-up wrong?
    • Simply take your receipt to customer service and they'll fix it right away.
Target Coupon Policy - Make sure to read this. I recommend you print and carry a copy just in case an issue comes up about a coupon being accepted. You can also call 1-800-440-0680 if you encounter any problems.
